Research Scientist (Postdoc)

Salary is E13 TV-L (100%)

The position is initially limited until February 29, 2020

The successful candidate will work in a BMBF funded project (KMU-NetC) which focuses on the development of automated tests for the early detection of gynecological malignancies (ASSURER). In particular, our project within the network is the identification of biomarkers in blood specific for ovarian cancer.  

Your Tasks

  • Identification of cancer-specific methylated DNA by CpG microarray analysis
  • Validation of candidate markers by methylation-specific PCR
  • Co-supervision of technical staff involved in this project
  • Project reporting
  • Assistance with the organization and coordination of the project

Your Profile

  • PhD in Biochemistry, Biology or related disciplines with a master/Diplom or equally highly-qualified University degree in this field. The candidate should have completed his/her PhD examination.
  • High motivation and enthusiasm
  • A strong interest in carcinogenesis and epigenetics
  • Experience and profound knowledge of molecular biological methods including microarray technology
  • Sound knowledge and understanding in data analysis and bioinformatics
  • Very good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team
