In the project, highly sensitive and chemically selective Raman spectroscopic measurement methods are being explored to achieve rapid medical diagnostics and patient-adapted treatment. The basis of this method is formed by innovative optical hollow fibres researched by IPHT, which enable rapid, sensitive and selective laser spectroscopic quantification of biomolecules in minimal volumes. For this objective, the partners IPHT and University Hospital Jena are carrying out test experiments in close collaboration to derive possibilities for improved clinical care. Cetoni and IPHT are striving for technological realisation of a powerful measurement process for miniaturized and automated on-site diagnostics.
