German Federal President visiting InfectoGnostics

The Federal President Joachim Gauck will visit the InfectoGnostics Forschungscampus Jena on Wednesday, the 23rd of November, 2016. The Federal President will discuss with scientists, medical experts and industry representatives about current InfectoGnostics research projects and how their results can be transferred to marketable applications.

What is the infectious agent of an infection? What type of antimicrobial resistance does it have? And how can medical doctors receive such crucial information as early as possible? – these are questions that the researchers at InfectoGnostics Research Campus Jena are working on.

During his visit to Jena, Federal President Joachim Gauck will get to know the health research at the high-tech city of Thuringia. At the Research Campus he will discuss current approaches for infection research and new ways to translate innovative ideas into diagnostic tools that could help to fight the worldwide problem of antibiotic resistances.

Before coming to the Research Campus, President Gauck will also visit our InfectoGnostics partner "Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology – Hans Knöll Institute (HKI) ".
