From 17 to 20 November 2025, the InfectoGnostics Research Campus Jena once again presented its latest developments at MEDICA – the Leading International Trade Fair in Düsseldorf. At the joint booth of the State Development Corporation of Thuringia (LEG) in Hall 3 / E80, we showcased current results from the AVATAR project consortium as well as from the Research Campus’ flagship projects.
A key focus of this year’s exhibition was on solutions for the secure and practical use of Health Data, particularly through AVATAR technologies for the anonymization of sensitive health information. Many visitors took the opportunity to learn about the latest advances and to engage directly with our researchers.

In direct proximity within Hall 3, additional partners from our network were represented:

Together, their presence highlights the innovative strength and diversity of the InfectoGnostics partnership network.
Visit from the Thuringian State Secretary for Economic Affairs
We were particularly pleased to welcome State Secretary Mario Suckert from the Thuringian Ministry for Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Rural Areas on 18 November. During his tour of the fair, he received an in-depth overview of our partners’ research activities and the strong representation of Thuringian companies and research institutions at MEDICA. We had the opportunity to present the AVATAR data anonymization project with its 18 partners, our flagship campus projects, and the emerging Leibniz Center for Photonics in Infection Research (LPI).
With around 5,000 exhibitors from 70 countries and approximately 80,000 professional visitors, MEDICA 2025 once again underscored its importance as a leading international trade fair for medical technology — and Thuringia reaffirmed its position as a dynamic and growing life science location.
