Minister Matschie visits Jena Research Campus

Thuringia's Minister of Science Christoph Matschie learned about the InfectoGnostics Research Campus and its projects today during the official transfer of the Centre for Applied Research (ZAF) to the Friedrich Schiller University Jena.

Research campus scientists in two laboratories showed him solutions for rapid and cost-effective on-site analysis of infections. Over 1,000 square metres of laboratory and office space in the ZAF are available to the more than 30 InfectoGnostics partners.

The InfectoGnostics research campus is developing new methods in the diagnosis of infections and pathogens, e.g. viruses, bacteria and fungi. InfectoGnostics is funded by the BMBF with additional support from the State of Thuringia. About half of the required budget is financed by the participating partners.
